Your new company
You will join a global IT consulting company that specialises in transformational management and technology. After joining the organisation, you will be supporting their clients from the banking industry, and work on strategic solutions to address the challenges of financial data quality, accessibility, and control, ensuring access to reliable source data for finance consumption and the data generated by finance.
Your new role
As a Data Architect, you will join a Data & Architecture Organisation, which provides leadership that enables data and analytics to be a key driver of the company’s business strategy. You will work in partnership with senior stakeholders and delivery teams all over the world to connect the business processes, data, products, services, and technology that underpin customer value and financial success.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Standards: defining and reviewing the standards that teams should adhere to when working with data
- Tooling: understanding the landscape of data tooling and working with groups to make buy/sell recommendations
- Patterns: capture good solutions from across the bank and document as patterns that can be reused
- Reference Architecture: provide documentation to drive a consistent approach to data architecture
- Controls: understanding key controls affecting data in the company, holding groups accountable for adherence
Moreover: - Arbitrating in difficult situations and driving the strategic agenda for architecture, clearly communicating strategic changes and decisions to stakeholders
- Estimating and contributing to project planning, dependency and risk maps from an architecture perspective.
- Collaborating with other Architects to understand the technical implications and deliver both on premise and cloud (or hybrid) environment data and application solutions.
- Supporting, communicating with and providing assistance to senior managers in a multinational organisation.
- Continuously reassessing and managing operational risks, considering legal, regulatory, and technological changes, while implementing the Operational Risk control framework in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant rules, regulations, and procedures, maintaining internal control standards, addressing audit points and regulatory issues promptly, and managing operational risks associated with your role.
What you39ll need to succeed
- Several years’ experience of data and solutions architecture in a global banking environment; preferably within a Treasury/Finance function and/or related front-office (Wholesale, Retail, Market Trading) service environment.
- A proven track record as a Data Solution Architect in a global and complex financial institution.
- Demonstrable experience designing IT data and solution architectures with corresponding phasing, transitions and migration plans where necessary.
- Knowledge and experience across one or more architectural domains (business, data, application, technology).
- Knowledge and practical experience of architectural frameworks, techniques and practices used in enterprise and solution architecture.
- Proven experience of data discovery and requirement analysis, data modelling design, data principles and standards, data governance, data strategy and data lineage.
- Industry knowledge of the current state of data management trends & regulation
- Experience with data modelling design and implementation using industry leading tools and best practice technologies such as: Power Designer, ERWin, ER Studio, Enterprise Architect, Visual Paradigm, Collibra
- Cloud experience in either GCP, AWS or Azure
- Experience of stakeholder management, presenting to peers and senior stakeholders on topics.
Nice to have: - Exposure to Big Data solutions
- Experience and/or understanding in areas such as Capital Management, Liquidity and Collateral Management, Interest Rate Risk, Financial Resource Management
