Group Development is part of the ROCKWOOL Competence Centre in Poznań, which was opened in 2016 with 70 employees onboard. Today, we have more than 370 employees and are still expanding in newexciting areas to support our business all over the world.

Development Engineer

Joining ROCKWOOL, you will support our mission to minimise our climate footprint by developing and pilot complete flue gas cleaning installations in our factories worldwide.
You will work mainly in cross-functional teams with fellow specialists and project managers in which you will focus on the technical aspects of flue gas handling in our technology development projects. Being our new Development Engineer, you will also keep a constant eye on global trends, ensuring we always adhere to and are aware of any changes in regulations around the world.
Generally, you are involved from early concepting to finished solution, taking part in all the phases of a project, including:

  • Specification and design of complete layouts of flue gas equipment, ducting, fans, instrumentation and chimneys
  • Development and testing of solutions
  • Presentation and review of proposed designs with relevant departments ensuring correct
    standards for e.g. health, safety and environment
  • Tender processes, e.g. meeting with suppliers
  • Commissioning and supervising the implementation of technologies including practical process
    work with PID regulation of the systems
  • Data analytics


You will join our team of engineers and project managers within Group Research & Development.

Are you good at managing changes in a multicultural organization?  And do you want to play a central role in our innovative R&D team?  Then we would like to hear from you.
Although your new desk will be located in the Nowy Rynek building in central Poznań, Poland, you will often travel primarily in Europe – mostly to meet with colleagues and suppliers and to supervise the implementation of your designs. You can expect to travel 60-80 days per year, with trips varying from just a couple of days to a few weeks at a time. Know, however, that you will rarely be alone.

You thrive in an environment where there are more questions than answers, and you see possibilities in the unknown. You are motivated by leading a team which creates new, innovative and competitive solutions that can change the state-of-the-art. 


Furthermore, we imagine you have:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a mechanical engineer, process engineer or similar - designing,
    implementing and installing equipment, preferably related to emission reduction and particle
    removal equipment – experience from power plants, chemical processing, process industry in
    general, working in ais a great advantage
  • Flair for chemistry
  • Experience within sensors (e.g. flow meters, temp. sensors, gas analyser)
  • Experience within catalytical solutions e.g. DeSOx and DeNOx processes
  • Experience within thermodynamics and/or fluid dynamics
  • Experience with 3D modelling in Inventor or similar
  • Data analytics skills
  • Sound knowledge of Office 365, including SharePoint
  • Excellent communication skills, and you are fluent in English
