For a well-known global located in Poznań, we are looking for a candidate interested in the position of Finance Director to manage financial operations in Poland. The chosen candidate will be responsible for providing strategic insights to drive business growth, managing financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring compliance with local regulations. This role demands a proactive leader with strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of financial practices and laws in Poland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute financial strategies in line with company objectives.
- Lead and oversee the accounting team to ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Ensure the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with Polish Accounting Standards and IFRS.
- Enhance accounting systems and processes for efficiency and compliance.
- Develop a chart of accounts in line with reporting standards, control requirements, and tax laws.
- Manage the confirmation of balances with contractors, inventory of company assets, and maintenance of all accounting records.
- Prepare reports and statements for management, banks, and external institutions.
- Liaise with external institutions (US, ZUS, GUS, NBP).
- Ensure accurate tax settlements.
- Ensure compliance with Polish tax regulations, including VAT, CIT, and payroll taxes, and oversee timely tax filings.
- Work with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure accurate reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and provide advisory to the business
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
- Experience with Polish Accounting Standards (PAS).
- Minimum of 5-8 years in financial management, including leadership roles.
- Proven track record in financial planning, reporting, and risk management.
- Expertise in Polish accounting regulations and tax laws.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Strategic thinking and effective communication skills in Polish and English.
