Mechanical Engineering ManagerMiejsce pracy: Inowrocław
The Mechanical Engineering Manager has the primary role and responsibility for supervision of the preparation and delivery of detailed design and engineering mechanical (plant & piping, rotating) in consideration of the quality, time, cost, specifications, design criteria, occupational health and safety (OH&S), and environmental protection objectives
Main Tasks:
- Procurement of design and engineering service providers (contractual partners) including recommendation to the project manager and assistance during contractual negotiations.
- Management and overall responsibility for the delivery of detailed mechanical engineering and cost estimates for the project.
- Control of design and engineering resources for mechanical design and engineering disciplines.
- Procurement of mechanical and machinery and materials (contractual partners) including recommendation to the project manager and assistance during contractual negotiations.
- Management, in conjunction with the Construction Manager, supply and design and engineering contracts
- Participation in preparation and management of the communication procedures between contractual partners (machinery suppliers and design and engineering service providers) reporting to the Construction Manager.
- Preparation and management of approval procedures for detailed mechanical design and engineering between contractual partners (machinery suppliers and engineering service providers).
- Approval of monthly progress payment certificates associated with design and engineering deliverables.
- Participation in preparation and management of design and engineering Quality Assurance Control (QA/QC) procedures.
- Preparation and management of machinery and material fabrication Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures
- Regular (monthly) reporting to the project manager of activities impacting project schedule, budget and scope (including project deviations).
- Ensure adherence of personnel and contractual partners to project procedures and policies.
- Responsibility for adherence of the design and engineering to Company's Standards and actual regulations (especially of such as the Office of Technical Inspection – UDT, Transportation Technical Supervision TDT)
Skills and qualifications required for the position:
Education:
- Preferably university degree (master or bachelor) in Mechanical Engineering.
Language(s):
- English (advanced), plus appropriate language for the project (Polish), will be an advantage.
Experience:
- Extensive experience in engineering in complex industrial projects, ideally O&G and/or chemical sector (apparatus industry)
- Knowledge in management of design and engineering of large or medium size CAPEX projects.
- Hands on knowledge of design and engineering scope, cost and schedule control tools.
- Recognized technical qualifications.
Skills:
- Leader and team integrator with communication skills.
- Decision maker and negotiator.
- Capable of controlling complex project structures.
- Cultural sensitivity in environment of the project.
Other:
- Specialized in engineering disciplines relevant to CCUS, with knowledge of environmental compliance and technical standards.
