Responsibilities:
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production operations within the manufacturing facility. This includes managing the production team, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting production targets. The Production Manager will work closely with other departments to optimize processes, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Oversee day-to-day production activities, ensuring that all production targets are met efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ensure production schedules are followed, with minimal downtime and efficient use of labor and equipment.
- Participate in process design during the new product development phase and continuously improve production processes for mass production products.
- Lead the transition of electronic products from R&D to production, ensuring a seamless handover and smooth ramp-up for mass production.
- Organize and execute analyses of non-conforming products, implementing corrective and preventive actions to ensure ongoing product quality.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to ensure alignment on production goals, material availability, and process optimization.
- Act as a key contact between production and other departments to resolve production issues and improve workflow.
- Develop and implement production strategies aimed at meeting cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Identify areas for improvement in production processes and lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Track and report on key production performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, downtime, quality rates, and on-time delivery.
- Ensure that all metrics align with business objectives and proactively address areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the quality team to ensure that all production processes meet IATF 16949 standards and resolve any quality issues that arise.
- Implement corrective actions to ensure that quality issues are addressed and prevented from recurring.
- Manage production resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Ensure that production teams have the tools and resources they need to perform their jobs effectively.
- Oversee materials planning, procurement, and inventory control to ensure the timely availability of required materials for production.
- Collaborate with suppliers to maintain material quality, manage lead times, and minimize production disruptions.
- Implement inventory management practices to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
- Supervise warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching materials and finished goods.
- Ensure efficient organization of warehouse space and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and improve warehouse processes to achieve accuracy in inventory records, reduce handling times, and support production schedules.
- Ensure that all production activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Promote a strong safety culture by implementing safety programs, conducting regular safety audits, and addressing any safety concerns proactively.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree highly preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment within an automotive Tier 1 company specializing in automotive electronics, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
- Familiar with OEM. Experience in the factory establishment phase in the automotive industry is a plus.
- Strong expertise in automotive electronics manufacturing, including experience with product NPI (New Product Introduction).
- 7+ years of solid knowledge in SMT production processes is a must. The assembly line experience or quality engineering background is a plus.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale operations with a focus on productivity, product quality, cost efficiency, safety, and so on.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, etc.)
- Good English level.
- Willing to openly communicate with teams across different countries.
- Willing to work with the company from the ground up.
