Yocto Linux Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Architect, develop, and uphold Yocto-oriented build systems for embedded Linux initiatives
- Modify and enhance Linux distributions utilizing Yocto utilities and recipes
- Diagnose build complications and provide prompt solutions
- Remain updated with industry progressions and advancements in Yocto Project and embedded Linux development
- Debug and enhance existing codebase to boost performance and rectify software defects and issues.
- Create scripts and automation utilities to simplify development and testing procedures.
- Engage in code evaluations to ensure code quality, maintainability, and compliance with coding standards.
- Generate and uphold technical documentation, encompassing design documents, API documentation, and code annotations.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including software developers, QA engineers, and hardware teams, to guarantee successful project implementation
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- 5 years of experience collaborating with the Yocto Project to construct embedded Linux systems, demonstrating a profound comprehension of system configuration, package administration, and image creation.
- 5+ years of practical experience in designing, implementing, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines for software development projects.
- 5+ years’ proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash
- Robust knowledge of Linux subsystems and networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, IPsec etc.)
- Familiarity with standard security protocols and their design (SSH, IPsec, TLS, etc.), and capability to comprehend security standard prerequisites
- Practical experience with debugging and profiling utilities
- Acquaintance with open-source development practices and collaboration with open-source communities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to operate independently and as part of a cooperative team.
Good to have:
- Understanding of Linux kernel, device drivers, and bootloader configuration
- Experience with GitHub Actions
- Experience in the Enterprise Networking domain.
- Experience with Jfrog, Artifactory, Jenkins.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and build automation tools
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
